The Artsadmin Youth Board is a team of young artists (18 to 25 years old) working to enable other young artists in their creative practices, offering an informational and supportive resource for those who may be just finding their artistic voice or who are no longer or never were in art education and want more contact time with a similarly unbiased artistic community.
The Youth Board was originally set up in 2007 to give young people participating in Artsadmin projects a long-term connection to the organisation. Supported and mentored by education producer Siobhán McGrath, the Youth Board organises and runs participatory events such as SCRITS (performance scratch critiques), Live Review (a new space that offers audiences and peformers to chat about the night before over eggs and stuff) and talks and round table discussions for a new project called Space (investigating the process of finding and operating artist run spaces).
Youth Board events have been presented at various venues and organisations up and down the country. These include Chelsea Theatre London, MK Gallery Milton Keynes, Arnolfini Bristol, Ikon Gallery Birmingham, Barbican London, mac Birmingham, A New Direction London and Artsadmin's Toynbee Studios.
If you would like to be involved in future Youth Board events as a host, a guest or a young artist looking for advice, or if you have any questions or suggestions about Youth Board events, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
