Lesley Asare is a London based visual artist, performance maker and designer who makes solo and collaborative work.
With a passion for the transformative effects of the live event and meaning that is communicated through visual performance languages, Lesley places the sharing of personal stories at the heart of her practice as she believes that doing so through art can greatly develop our understanding of ourselves, each other and the world that we live in.
She generates work through the exploration of narratives within everyday objects as well as through the design and construction of objects (often costumes) that can be transformed by the body in space.
Lesley has collaborated with Artsadmin on the 2012 Summer Project The Skin of my Teeth with Mark Storor and on Nailwraps: Influences by Phoebe Davies.
