British Social Athlete film

Posted by: Artsadmin on Sep 18, 2012
This Summer Mel Donohoe has been working with the people of Jaywick in Essex to create a message from the Eastern reaches of the UK to the heart of London 2012.

A British Social Athlete in the undiscovered, physically unprepared everyday person in the street. Travelling as the crow flies, across varied terrain, Mel sailed, cycled and walked from Jaywick to East London to deliver a message from Jaywick to London and the world.

This film was made by Signals Media Arts and they followed Mel through workshops at Jaywick Martello Tower, local knitting groups and the final choice of the message at the Jaylympics in July.

Commissioned as part of Live Art Collecive East.
