Unlimited Global Alchemy : Body Mapping Workshop

Rachel Gadsden

Body Map (2002) © Nondumiso Hlwele created during the Long Life Project

11.30am – 1.30pm

Free – All materials provided. No advance booking

Rachel Gadsden and the Bambanani Group are running a free, family-oriented workshop as part of the Unlimited Global Alchemy programme at Southbank during the Paralympic Games.

During this hands-on painting workshop, Rachel and three of the visiting South African artists – Nondumiso Hlwele, Bongiwe Mba and Thobani Ncapai – will introduce you to the process of body mapping, a powerful tool to envision how life experience is stored in your body. Open to all ages, bodymapping offers a creative tool to use your body as a barometer of life’s journeys.

The workshop will also be an opportunity to gain a greater insight into the development of the project through working directly with the artists.

No prior experience necessary. This workshop is open to all ages on a drop-in basis, for up to 20 people at any one time.
