The Roadless Trip

The Roadless Trip returns to Warwick, remade starring local people from Coventry Central Library, the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre, the Gap Community Centre and the Mata Sundri Ji Knitting Group.

On the quest to find a better future, Sarah, her daughter Lil, and their production manager John, travelled the breadth of the UK asking the people they met about their visions of the future. Did it all have to be austerity, climate change and zombie apocalypses? Maybe, between us, we could try thinking of something better… And what they discovered was more surprising than they could have ever foretold.

Mixing performance, film and Saturday- night style gameshows, The Roadless Trip features interviews and footage from 200 different people and one epic journey on the M6 in an old ambulance called ‘The Tripper’.

Performed by Sarah Woods and Lil Woods and directed by Emma Bernard. Filmed and production managed by John Hunter. The further development and tour of The Roadless Trip is supported by the Ashden Trust, Arts Council England and Arts Council Wales with Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Birmingham Rep, Gulbenkian Theatre in Kent, Live at LICA and Warwick Arts Centre.
