Museum of Water

8-11, 16-18 & 23-25 September.

Museum of Water is a collection of publicly donated water and accompanying stories. Accumulating over two years in different sites worldwide, Museum of Water is an invitation to ponder our precious liquid and how we use it.

Over the past 18 months, in partnership with Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Amy Sharrocks has worked with Dutch artists Sanneke Van Hassel and Anouk Driessen to develop a bespoke Museum of Water for Rotterdam, inviting people from the Netherlands to ponder our precious liquid and how we use it.

The doors to the old water board building, Het Gemaal, will fling open, letting you explore the Dutch collection, donate your own water, interact with sound sculptures and raise a glass at Water Bar.

There will also be a whole public programme of events called Between Here and Gone, focusing on a different aspect of water each weekend; its’ playfulness, philosophy and its relationship to music.

UK sound edits for the Het Gemaal sound sculpture by Mary Ingoldby.
