Mabin 1968

Nic Green. Photo by Julia Bauer.

7.30pm. £20-£1, pay what you can.

In lofty tones a redoubtable old person in tweed once said to Marcia Farquhar: “Spring is not the only season. I am a country witch and I favour Autumn.”

In this performance, Marcia draws on her past life as a mabin (a name given to her on the afternoon of Spring solstice in 1968) and the wealth of many springs.

Marcia works in performance, photography, painting and object-making. Conceptual in nature and precariously balanced between the prescribed and the unpredictable, her performances are socially open, broadly embracing of circumstance and resolutely focussed in the live moment. Marcia is the recipient of Live Art Development Agency's 2016/17 Arthole Artist's Award.

Jem Finer and Ansuman Biswas will be joining Marcia on stage for a one-night-only riot of Spring.
