How to save the World

7.30pm. Free.

Climate breakdown is a symptom of our broken economic system. How do we fix it and in turn save the world? Come together in the bank, in front of an exploded van to look at ways of moving the economy rapidly away from dependence on fossil fuels and financial speculation.

For one night only, 2 Degrees Festival relocates to Walthamstow for a special event hosted by Bank Job, a feature film and art project pushing for economic change, operating out of a former Co-op Bank in North East London as HSCB (Hoe Street Central Bank).

The Guardian called Bank Job 'The Rebel Bank', as they first printed their own banknotes and artwork and sold £40,000 worth of them. They used half of the proceeds to fund local projects (£5,000 each) picking up the pieces of our broken financial system, including a food bank, homeless kitchen and a youth project.

Between 11 May and 14 July Walthamstow's Rebel Bank will host and present a series of events in a space now dominated by the suspended remains of an exploded van. How to save the World is part of this series.
