Lucy Cash

Lucy Cash works in performance and film. Her work playfully considers language and movement – both of bodies and thoughts. Each commissioned work experiments with ideas that explore our relationship to memory and narrative within both contemporary culture and specific histories and philosophies.
 
Since 2000, Lucy has worked in collaboration with companies and artists whose work re-considers the edges of dance and theatre. Her work with Goat Island performance company, Bodies in Flight, Rajni Shah Theatre, Retina Dance, Anna Krzystek, Athina Vahla and Oblivia has taken place in theatrical and site specific spaces and also existed as single screen films and installations.

Since becoming an associate artist with Artsadmin in 2007, Lucy has made single screen works – Sight Reading and Requiem for the Redhead? as well as site specific performance – Before you go and Everything That Happens Here. Lucy's screen dance works have been exhibited in a range of international galleries and festivals as well as on BBC2 / 4 and on Channel 4.  She is currently a South East Dance Screen Dance Fellow (2009-10).
