According to reports in June 2009, a catastrophic 2C rise in global temperatures could be as little as 40 years away. Artsadmin brought together over 20 radical and politically engaged artists to create work that confronts climate change head on.

With as many events taking place on the streets around Toynbee Studios as in the theatre, we asked the audience to join these artists; whether by sharing an organic picnic, exploring London’s forgotten waterways, sampling an airline meal or foraging for food in the City of London.

Led by artists, Two Degrees puts climate change at the very centre of how we live and work.

We have to stop treating climate change as an urgent issue. We have to start treating it as an international emergency.
George Monbiot, The Guardian

Two Degrees 2009 was funded by the European Union Culture Programme, Arts Council England and Artists Project Earth. Two Degrees was part of Respond!, a month of environmental engagement through art. www.respond09.org
