Talking Still-Life

Gary Stevens

Talking Still-Life was a commentary about objects on a table. Inanimate objects were given as the site of consciousness - except for a hand and a foot which failed to have autonomy.
The commentary disintegrated the observer, who projected his thoughts onto the things he saw rather attributing them to himself as a subject.

Commissioned by Lois Keidan for Artsonline.com, as part of Illuminations television, 2000 - 2001

Performed by Gary Stevens
Duration 6 mins - solo audio
