In Autumn 2016 Artsadmin launched BANNER, a new award for artists graduating from art school, supported by Goldsmiths University of London, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Live Art Development Agency. Intended as a holistic programme of support combining ongoing dialogue, participation in artist development labs, peer exchange and public presentation, BANNER supported four artists between October 2016 - June 2017. The award and programme represents an evolution of an earlier iteration of BANNER in 2014 and 2015 in which Artsadmin presented compelling work by graduating artists through a performance platform at Toynbee Studios.
From October 2017 – June 2018, Artsadmin will support two new artists, Elinor Lewis (graduating from MA Performance Making, Goldsmiths) and Thulani Rachia (graduating from BA in Contemporary Performance Practice, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). Elinor and Thulani will present work at Toynbee Studios in May 2018.
2016/17 BANNER recipients:
Gudrun Soley Sigudardottir
