Screenings programme 1

Bernd Behr, Hotel Palindrome (before R. Smithson) (2006, 10mins)
Hotel Palindrome revisits a seminal slide lecture by artist Robert Smithson given to architecture students at the University of Utah in 1972, invoking a dialogue with Smithson’s conceptual structure and the memories of two professors present at the talk.

Katherine Araniello and Hayley Newman, Hot! (2006, 5mins 30)
Video material provided by Newman is re-composed and edited by Araniello. It is the first collaboration of a series in which video makers have been invited to respond to Newman's performance 'The Volcano Lady' (2005).

David Blandy, The White & Black Minstrel Show (2006, 7mins 30)
David Blandy takes on the persona of the White & Black Minstrel, (an inverted Black & White Minstrel) and performs a “live” lip-sync to Syl Johnson's soul classic “Is it because I'm Black?” in a vast Art Deco style cinema.
