A Place Less Imaginable

Lucy Cash

A Place Less Imaginable by Lucy Cash

Artsadmin Associate Artist, Lucy Cash, will show her video installation for cupboards and dark spaces as part of WHAT NOW at the Siobhan Davies Dance Studios in April.
Based on a short story by Ursula Le Guin, the video's text is heard as a narration by actor, Gerard Bell. Obliquely supported by a single shot image, the video's narrative is left to unfold in the mind of the viewer. The video loop begins as the cupboard door is opened and ends when the door is shut.
Part science fiction, part philosophical conundrum, the work presents a seemingly 'future past' which questions our ability to empathise.
WHAT NOW is Independent Dance’s Open House weekend showcase of experimental work by a new generation of dance artists as part of The Collection – dance and visual arts presented simultaneously at Siobhan Davies Studios and Victoria Miro Gallery, London
