Artsadmin Weekenders

Anne Bean

Anne Bean

Anne Bean’s Weekender will be based on the interactions and connections, often subliminal, fragile or tentative, between the participants.

I will aim to find a way in which we can feel intimate or comfortable enough with each other to produce or conceptualise a piece which would come from true collaboration, a space between us all. Apart from dialogue, I’ll devise several simple exercises using everyday materials to be used in spontaneous actions individually and within varied combinations. As a ‘group consciousness’ starts to emerge, I would want my own role to blend into and parallel any one else’s in the gathering, a sense of us all being simultaneously both the material and the sculptors of the process. I’d like us to arrive at a work or notion that none of us could have attained alone: a concept that surprises us all.
