Keep Dancing
Wendy Houstoun
Wendy Houstoun is a dance theatre artist who has developed a distinctive style that combines movement with text, and meaning with humour. In her solo, Keep Dancing, a typist gets waylaid by the act of preparation before finding herself in a loop of action she finds difficult to escape.
Keep Dancing is a dialogue with technology and a visual display including fascinating archive footage. Houstoun challenges preconceptions about movement but also communicates clearly and humorously about contemporary culture. In this new work, she re-asserts herself as a performer of integrity and independence.
