Song-Seek

7.30pm. £3

Oo La Lume presents…an evening made for your ears at Toynbee Studios. Our second Song-Seek takes place in the lovely Arts Bar and Café.

Featuring…

Front Ear
A dynamic duo taking inspiration from a wide range of sources, such as Salt 'N' Pepa and TV theme tunes. The noise of the next generation.

Jamie Glew-Osborn and Daniel Alexander Hignell
Two-thirds of Brighton based band Some Cartographers will perform their latest collaboration, Chirognomy. Jazz standards are mixed with electro-acoustic drones, advanced instrumental techniques are presented amid a backdrop of textural complexity, rhythms, tempos and melodies. The piece focuses on the arrangement of known cultural and musical signifies so as to create something new.

Portia Winters
Portia works with voice and electrics. She also collaborates and experiments with analogue modular synths, field recordings, animators and choreographers and fellow improvisers, musicians and sound artists.

Your hosts Oo La Lume will also perform some of their harmony-drenched-alternative-folk-pop and look after you very well too.

We’re hoping Song-Seek will become an on-going platform for new music, so please come and help us make it a success. If you'd like to play at this (or any future) Song-Seek please contact Oo La Lume at songseek@oolalume.co.uk.
