24 Grotesque Manipulations
Tim Spooner
Like an invitation to his cabinet of curiosities, Tim Spooner demonstrates with 24 Grotesque Manipulations a collection of altered objects with particular properties – an ensemble of flawed walking machines, nervous sculptures and cartoon protoplasms – in an attempt to reveal the inner lives of their atoms.
A series of meticulous situations, from the blithe to the macabre, with elements of spontaneous combustion and a sideways take on puppetry along the way.
Tim Spooner works from London on correspondences between the physical world and the world of ideas. These fragile metaphysics manifest themselves as paintings, writing, installations and live shows.
This performance is supported by an Artsadmin bursary and the Juliet Gomperts Trust.
