Campanologia is an ongoing project investigating the ancient mode of communication of bells.

Join artist Emma Smith to share in the history of bell ringing from warding off thunderstorms to calls to collective action. Presenting the mathematic possibility to convert the sound of bells into graph form and three-dimensional space, this talk will present the production process for new compositions being created by the artist as sonic journeys in the UK and Italy.

The evening will include the opportunity to try your hand at ringing the score Bourn Bounds Bob Major on a set of hand chimes, composed and created by the artist.
