Radar: Show Me the Money

Artists' workshop looking at strategies and approaches to funding in the arts

Radar workshop, photo by Artsadmin

Art costs money. And sometimes the line between an artist and the funds they need can seem endless. This Radar session focuses on the many ways of getting the money you need to make projects work, including how to ask for money, when to ask for it, and how to find the right places to fund your work.

In this session we will consider a range of funding streams, from crowd funding to foundations, Arts Councils to patrons. This workshop will be led by Artsadmin’s Artist Support team and Philippa Barr, Creative Producer, Arts Consultant and Festival Producer at Brighton Dome and Festival.

The session is best suited for artists that already have some experience with funding applications in the arts. Please note that we hold separate workshops focused on Arts Council England’s Small Project grants – sign up to the E-digest and Toynbee Studios emails for updates.

This April we are hosting another Radar session on how to draft budgets, manage finances and stick to a budget in arts projects.

About Radar

Radar is a vital part of Artsadmin’s support system for artists. Radar is a series of free sessions, talks and events. Each season, we offer different skills and tools for artists at all stages of their careers to build a more sustainable practice. Artsadmin’s expertise and experience lie in performance and live art, and so places for Radar are best suited to artists working directly in these fields. The theme for Spring 2020 is MONEY.

All of our Radar sessions can be BSL interpreted. Please get in touch in advance if this is a service you’d like to use.

You can let us know your access requirements ahead of time by emailing access@artsadmin.co.uk.
