Following its US premiere, presented in New York by Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in March- April, Arrivals + Departures returns to the UK to start a tour to outdoor festivals across England.

Commencing with Brighton Festival, the boards will be located in the historic Pavilion Gardens in the heart of the city.  Visitors and passers-by can contribute names by asking a guide on site between the times specified or via arrivalsanddepartures.net, anywhere in the world.

Listen to Yara + Davina on Radio Reverb. Local people in Brighton tell the artists about the song they would like played at their funeral, ahead of the Arrivals + Departures opening:

As part of a special programme of related events, the public are invited to engage more deeply with the themes of birth and death. This will includes the special one-hour radio show and podcast for local radio station Radio Reverb, in which listeners are asked to submit a song they would like played at a birth or at their funeral. Other online events include:

  • Birth Café: Sunday 2 May, 2-4pm (GMT). Hosted by Laura Godfrey-Isaacs.
  • Death Café: Tuesday 4 May, 7-8.15pm (GMT). Hosted by Louisa Parsons and Nicolette Thornton, Brighton Death Café
  • Re-defining Grief: Thursday 6 May, 7.30-9pm (GMT). Panel discussion hosted by Emma Curtis (Funeral Celebrant and Grief & Resilience Therapist) with special guest Cara Mair Funeral Director (founder of Arka Original Funerals) and YARA + DAVINA
