MAC: Stephen Watts is a poet who’s lived in Whitechapel for 25 years.

He also edits & co-translates, mainly contemporary Kurdish, Persian & Slovene poetry. Most recent books are : ‘The Blue Bag’(Poems 2004, repr. 2005), ‘An Anthology Of Modern Kurdish Poetry’(2006) & ‘6 Slovenian Poets’(2006). In 2006 he was the first ‘embedded poet’ with HI-Arts in northern Scotland, working on issues of suicide : ‘The Language Of It’(2007) & a DVD are first fruits of that work. He is concerned with ‘nomad poetics’, with poetry & acts of walking in ongoing projects, & has often worked in hospitals & schools. He is establishing a very extensive web-site biblio-graphy of modern poetry in translation with CCH at Kings College London, among many other projects, & is well acknowledged as a strong performer of his own and other poetries.
