Nwando Ebizie is a multidisciplinary artist whose work converges around performance art personas, experimental theatre, music and African diasporic ritualistic dance.
Through her projects she investigates the contradictions of identity found in projected personas, the formation of mythopoeia, and the transcendence of ecstatic group ritual.
As one half of MAS productions she has created the alter-ego Lady Vendredi, a time travelling, blaxploitation pop star who self released a 12 inch vinyl record in May this year. Lady Vendredi in turn has created her own alter-ego – The Baron – a transvestite, transracial, tap-dancing, northern comedian.
