Returning for 2024-26!

Artsadmin Youth, our engagement programme for young people, has been in hibernation since early 2022. We are currently in the research and development stage for a new iteration of Artsadmin Youth, which we hope to launch this year.

Recent activity includes a panel discussion held in December at Toynbee Studios, which brought together youth participant and engagement sector voices to reflect on past and present youth programmes, and a feedback session held in February where seven young people were invited to reflect on an early outline of our 2024-26 programme. Co-creation is at the heart of what we do, and, after a hiatus from programming youth projects, we are intentionally re-entering the sector in active dialogue with the young people we aim to involve.

Questions we have been asking include:

  • What do young people look for in arts programmes?
  • How might sector workers and participants measure the success of programmes differently?
  • What have arts workers and participants learnt from each other in the process of working together?
  • How can we talk about some of the repeated challenges like participant retention, trust, responsibility, autonomy and legacy – productively, but with care?

To register your interest in the 2024-26 programme or to stay updated on announcements, contact Engagement Producer Maya Kincaid maya@artsadmin.co.uk with the subject line ‘Artsadmin Youth’

Past programmes

Set up in 2007, the Artsadmin Youth Board was a collective of young creatives aged 16-25 working together to enable themselves and other creatives to develop their artistic voice.

Members of the youth board had a voice across the organisation, attended board meetings and acted as consultants on projects. In addition to this the Youth Board:

  • Curated and produced live art events and happenings
  • Received support for members to develop their own creative practices
  • Attended performances and develops networks
  • Provided a platform for young creatives to showcase their work
  • Offered information and support to young people finding their artistic voice
