A Model Family
Bobby Baker
Pilot performance
Performances : 12 – 2pm, 3 – 4pm, 5 – 7pm
In this pilot for Bobby’s major new project, a scaled down version of a ‘Big Brother’ style house will be constructed on the Queen Mary, University of London campus.
Peeking in through one-way mirrors, visitors will be able to watch Bobby and Siân Stevenson act out a family scenario consisting of two elderly women arguing in a National Trust gift shop in Northumbria. By suggesting how this habitual arguing could be resolved, visitors will be able to inform and change the course of the performance throughout the day. People will also be encouraged to share their own stories of familial conflict and how they resolved them – or didn’t!
This pilot performance is an outcome of Bobby’s AHRC Fellowship at Queen Mary and has been funded by a Wellcome Arts Award.
