Travelling here
By Car
The closest available parking is the NCP car park on Whitechapel High Street; there is no parking, including accessible parking, on site.
Both Commercial Street and Whitechapel High Street are red routes meaning no stopping; the closest drop off is on Wentworth Street, roughly 100m from the Toynbee Studios entrance.
Toynbee Studios is on the perimeter of the congestion charge zone so it can be accessed without incurring charges, but many nearby roads cannot.
By Tube or Overground
Aldgate East is the closest station to Toynbee Studios and sits on the District and Hammersmith & City lines.
Aldgate (Circle and Metropolitan lines), Whitechapel (District, Elizabeth, Hammersmith & City and Windrush lines), Shoreditch High Street (Windrush line) and Liverpool Street (Central, Circle, Elizabeth, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Weaver lines) are all within walking distance.
Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street have step-free access.
By Bike
There are bike racks available in Mallon Gardens and on Commercial Street and the area is served by both Forest and Lime bikes. Only non-electric folding bikes can be brought into the building during the day – we cannot store bikes overnight.
By Bus
Toynbee Studios is a few minutes’ walk from several bus stops on both Commercial Street and Whitechapel with routes serving different parts of the city.
By Train
The closest national rail stations are Liverpool Street and Fenchurch Street.
