Telling Stories In The Dark
Stacy Makishi
Stacy Makishi is performing and leading workshops as part of the Experiences of the Dark programme in Miroslaw Balka’s installation How it Is at TATE Modern.
In the first session, Stacy Makishi facilitates exercises in and around Miroslaw Balka’s cavernous installation How It Is to access our imagination and memory in order to formulate our unique narratives, to write in our own personal voice and to perform individual or group storytelling sessions.
In the second session one week later, on 1 March, a selection of participants from the Telling Stories in the Dark workshop perform their unique stories for an audience of family, friends and strangers. This will be preceded by a brief rehearsal and feedback period.
The workshop is suitable for anyone interested in storytelling and performance but it is physically involving, therefore we recommend that participants wear comfortable, warm clothing.
