Hunt & Darton Cafe

Hunt & Darton Cafe. Photo by Christa Holka.

Open midday till late (closed Mondays)

Live Art duo Hunt & Darton will open and manage their fully functioning pop-up cafe in Edinburgh for the duration of the festival this August. Serving up hearty roast dinner sandwiches from 12 noon and transforming into a holiday camp bar in the evening, Hunt & Darton Cafe is the perfect Fringe retreat.

All encompassing hosts Hunt & Darton expose the inner workings of their business by presenting everything as art – from the public display of their bank balance to the lovingly handpicked charity shop crockery.

A full rota of artist waiters serve food like Battenberg cakes, fondant fancies and the signature roast dinner sandwich. Whether seeking surprising art or a relaxing place to spend the afternoon, Hunt & Darton Cafe satisfies appetites in more ways than one.
