A series of outmoded vintage video cameras explore how our ways of seeing and ways of remembering may be informed by the medium used to capture the event. The title White Balance refers to the process by which a camera is adjusted to account for differences in light, changing the relative strengths of colors to reach a truer sense of what is being seen. From the evolution of the video camera and meditations on discarded videotape formats, to the revisiting of lost and abandoned video footage, this performance tells a series of stories on time travel, haunting and hallucination.
White Balance: A History of Video is part of a series that creates fictional narratives and explores their relationship with real life and autobiographical experience.
