Up In Arms, Residency at Noorafshan Mirza Studio, Istanbul

In December 2024, Anna Maria Nabirye and Annie Saunders undertook a residency at Noorafshan Mirza Studio, Istanbul, to further the development of Up In Arms.

A month-long residency during which Nabirye and Saunders edited transcripts of the conversations they have recorded for Up In Arms: A Sourcebook for Intersectional Collaboration. The artists worked on the structure of the book overall and the writing styles for each component: chronological narrative, thematic sections with conversations between themselves and other artists/collaborators/participants, and practical resources or exercises for intersectional collaboration.
