Chris Goode returns to CPT with the first showings of a new project made especially for the venue’s 15th Anniversary festival. Both a reflective commentary on theatrical performance, and a theatre piece in its own right, The Forest and the Field leads its audience through an array of ways of thinking about the theatrical experience, drawing extensively on Shakespeare as well as contemporary practice, and identifying a seductively radical through-line which joins theatre’s past to the promise of its future.
