When I Fell For You I Fell Like The Bomb (workshops)

Stacy Makishi

FREE – please email stacymakishi@gmail.com to book for either time
Imagine that you are caught in a parallel universe, perhaps it is August 6, 1945, when the first atomic is dropped on the town of Hiroshima. In three days, the next bomb will be dropped on the town on Nagasaki.
Imagine what you would do if you had three days until the apocalypse. Who would you love? Who would you hate? What would you perform in ‘The Last Chance Cabaret’, a place where you could express the unexpressed?

These workshops will include strategies for creating text and devising visual images for performance. It is open to anyone interested in exploring their own creativity and willing to try out new ideas.
Some participants may be asked to perform their work on Saturday 13 March as part of When I Fell For You I Fell Like The Bomb / Sleeping With Your Enemy, a post apocalyptic cabaret that fuses music, installation, performance, film and food.
When I Fell For You I Fell Like The Bomb / Sleeping With Your Enemy is a collaboration between Stacy Makishi Co. and Yoshiko Shimada and is part of …Louder than Bombs: Art, Action & Activism co-curated by Live Art Development Agency and Stanley Picker Gallery.
