Island

Inspired by the thoughts of two well-known thinkers: ‘No man is an Island, entire of it self; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main’ (John Donne) and ‘Hell is other people’ (John-Paul Sartre), Gary will be working with four co-performers on a new text based performance piece which explores inter-relationships and interconnection.
Five performers, apparently strangers to each other, start to attribute characteristics, names and histories to each other. As they interchange and exchange identities the performance will become a complex memory game as they weave an increasingly complex web of relationships between each other.
