The Haircut Before the Party (THBTP)
Interested in sharpening your views as well as your bangs? Talking about more than the fringe issues? Then join The Haircut Before The Party and The Open Barbers for a free haircut with a difference.
These radical hairdressers are teaming up to bring their largest mobile salon to date to Latitude Festival. Fresh from their London Shop and European tour they are finding a home within the temporary Latitude community where they will explore and question how we wear our politics.

Traveling alongside the barbers is a mobile library of texts that cover a host of topics and titles, from Grazia to Greaber. The salon is open for cuts and conversations, shaves and sharings and a whole host of ways to split hairs about politics today. The Haircut Before the Party (THBTP) are a radical hairdresser collective who are taking up a “line of flight” across Europe through political and economical crisis, to discover the meanings of revolution today.
Throughout 2012 they will be setting up temporary salon structures that act as meeting places, sites of exchange and social environments in which people are invited to receive haircuts for free and discuss political issues in a space that encourages immediate solidarities and trust.
Open Barbers is a hairdressing service for all genders and sexualities. They offer a personalised and warm haircutting experience with a queer and trans friendly attitude. They seek to promote the diversity of identities in society and celebrate people’s appearance in the way they wish to be seen.
Open Barbers have also appeared at Bar Wotever, Queer Fayre, House of Stars and are resident at Chaps and Dames every Monday evening.
