PARTICIPATORY WORK
2.30pm-6pm. Free.
This is now fully booked. Please get in contact if you would like a place on the waiting list.
Calling all overworked, overwhelmed and underpaid artists – Artsadmin’s Sweatshops are back for the Autumn!
Join us for a discursive and practical workshop looking at making participatory work. Together we will investigate all things relational and dialogic – the theory and practice of how and why artists work with people, sometimes shunning traditional spaces for art to happen.
During the session we will look at case studies that have been transformational to groups and individuals and share experience of how these relationships can be started, brokered and maintained. We will also look at how this kind of work can be evaluated and documented.
Facilitated by Artsadmin advisors and producers, this session is open to a maximum of 12 artists and would suit those who are thinking about or currently in the process of making participatory works. Please bring with you documentation of the project you are working on or proposals for the projects you are looking to develop; also an openness to share ideas, advice and dilemmas.
Please only book if you know for certain that you are available to attend. To book, please contact advisoryservice@artsadmin.co.uk or 0207 247 5102 stating which Sweatshop you’d like to attend and why, with a short introduction to your practice.
