The Falsettos

Stacy Makishi

7.30pm. £12/£8 concessions.

Stacy Makishi’s solo show The Falsettos returns to London after touring the UK. Splicing together influences from American popular culture including The Sopranos, Barbra Streisand and E.T via a deft mix of theatre and comedy, The Falsettos sees midlife, lowlife, menopause and taboo get the Makishi treatment – uncompromising, compassionate and joyously absurd.

The performances will be followed by a new documentary film, The Making of The Falsettos. Accompanying Stacy throughout the development of the piece, filmmaker Claire Nolan invites you to experience a world of performance-making at first hand. Featuring in-depth interviews with collaborators Peggy Shaw, Joshua Sofaer, Lois Weaver and Vick Ryder, The Making of the Falsettos offers a personal portrait of the artist and an insight into the impact art can have on relationships.

Stacy will also be leading a workshop, Killing Time, on 1 & 2 February.
