Bethan Lloyd Worthington will create a smashed-porcelain sculpture called Constellation for the De Montford Suite and a glass piece spanning several fire doors on the 2nd floor called A Pace or Two Ahead of Us.
Bethan Lloyd Worthington was born in 1982 and grew up in Cheshire. She studied MA Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art (2008 – 2010) following her BA at Manchester Metropolitan University (2001-2004 & 2005 – 2006) and Blaker College, Norway (2002). She works across drawing, objects and installation. Selected group shows include the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2011; Postcards From Europe, Wem Town Hall (2011); BCB, Former Spode Factory (2011); Einfall, The Freud Museum (2009). Collaborative work has been exhibited at AirSpace Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent (2011); Galleria Uno Pia Uno, Milan (2011) and HotShoe Gallery, London (2010). Awards include the John Norris Wood Natural Forms Drawing Prize – highly commended (RCA 2010); The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (2008) and the CPA charitable trust bursary – research trip to St. Petersburg (2006). She lives and works in Hackney, London and is a founder member of the studio group Manifold.
