Grace Surman’s practice follows a delicate but systematic exploration of how one might live, think, see and act in the world, through an attempt to understand presence in the live theatrical event.
During improvised time a series of fixed ideas are brought together, which cannot anticipate a predetermined outcome. It is this insistence on “live” process, which marks her practice. Grace’s current work will look at the ‘dualities of female experience through a series of solos, duets, trios and quartets’.
