Commissioned for Threshold, a series of intimate performances in domestic settings across East Kent, Before You Go was a collaboration between Gerard Bell, Lucy Cash and Katie Hims which took place in a house in a churchyard in Ashford in December 2008.
Imagine the scene. Three people meet in a house with no number. A bride weeps and rages. A heating engineer dreams of alternatives. A musician rides a steel horse and tells anyone who’ll listen his life is going to the dogs. Stories are confused and overlap. There are some answers but they’re not cheap. Meanwhile, darkness falls and the city lights twinkle across the skyline…
