A 9 minute film that collages three different kinds of movement.
It imagines a dialogue between a re-enactment of early 20th century experiments into ‘eyeless sight’ (a scientific curiosity testing claims that ‘sight’ could move to different parts of the body), a choreographed exploration of an eclipse (the movement of planets), and a study of the rhythm of jokes.
Sight Reading was developed as part of an Artsadmin bursary in 2006 and screenings have included Openport Real-Time Performance, Sound & Language Festival, Chicago; ‘Multichannel’ at Artsway, Hampshire; Falmouth Live Art Festival; Nottdance Festival; Movement on Screen, Manchester and Toynbee Studios.
