Stereo Dances was an interactive dance-sound work that has been developed by Rosemary Lee and Nic Sandiland out of his original idea and earlier manifestation.
Each participant could create a private duet with a partner as they listened to instructions played through pairs of headphones. Engrossing and refreshingly uplifting, each couple found themselves creating different styles of dances – from formal to the unexpected and from the meditative to folk – set against a range of musical backgrounds.

Stereo Dances was originally commissioned by RFH Education, South Bank Centre, London for the Ballroom Floor.
Presentations between 2002-7 have included : RFH Ballroom Floor Southbank Centre, London Spring Dance; The Great Indoors, Manchester International Festival; Dance Screen Brighton 2005 IMZ SouthEast Dance ACE; Mladi Levi Festival, Ljubliana, Slovenia; Quay Arts, Isle of Wight; Centre National de la Dance, Paris/Pantin; Norwich and Norfolk Festival; UK Moves, La Piscine, Roubaix, France; Aberystwyth Art Centre.
Stereo Dances has been translated into French and Slovenian.
