Artist talk

part of Gary Stevens' Performance Lab
Michael Pinsky takes the combined roles of urban planner, activist, researcher, resident and artist. Using the mediums of video, performance, mapping and programming, Pinsky responds site-specifically to physical and sociological space. Context is crucial, providing both the content and the platform for his work. Current projects include Panacea an ACE funded exhibition touring to the CCC, Tours; Tours, Galerie d’art Contemporain, Chinon; Archilab, Orleans; Le Parvis, Ibos, France; the John Hansard Gallery, Southampton and Cornerhouse, Manchester.

Michael Pinsky is Senior Lecturer at East London University. He received an Art for Architecture award from the RSA and his exhibition Pontis was shortlisted for the Gulbenkian Museums Award.
