ArtRole: An Insight into Current Iraq

To book, email manick@artsadmin.co.uk.

ArtRole, a British contemporary art organisation developing international culture exchanges with the Middle East, is presenting a programme of talks by renowned British and American artists Anne Bean, Richard Wilson, Clare Charnley, Susan Meiselas, Nancy Buchanan and Adalet R Garmiany to share impressions of their recent visit to Kurdistan-Iraq in Autumn 2007.

This is an opportunity to listen to the artists recounting their astonishing journey throughout Kurdistan-Iraq in November 2007 and discussing the influence this exchange has had on their practice, as well as talking about forthcoming projects they are undertaking with ArtRole, in a region which has suffered decades-long isolation due to geopolitical instabilities. This will also be a chance for artists and curators to discuss ways to develop a cultural, intellectual and educational network between the UK and Iraq to promote a cross-cultural dialogue.

Presented by Artsadmin in association with the Live Art Development Agency.
