Be Prepared
Geraldine Pilgrim
Geraldine Pilgrim has been commissioned by Girlguiding UK to create a site-specific installation for the grounds of Harewood House to celebrate 100 years of the Girl Guides.
Created for Fusion, a week-long camp and events programme in the centenary week, Be Prepared will be shown for one day only on Wednesday 4 August for an audience of girl guides from around the world.
The Be Prepared trail begins in the formal parterre garden of Harewood House (home of Princess Mary, honourary president of the Girl Guides from 1920 to 1965) and traces the evolution of the movement from the gate-crashing of the 1910 boy scouts rally through two world wars to the exuberant and adventurous worldwide movement it is today.
