Llámame Mariachi
La Ribot
La Ribot’s most recent work Llámame Mariachi (‘call me mariachi’ in English) sits provocatively on the edge of performance, dance and live art.
Involving a trio of women including la Ribot herself, a mesmerising film with specially commissioned soundtrack by atom™ leads into a playful and humorous live performance.
Llámame Mariachi tests our senses by increasing, framing and pushing out of frame our different perceptions of the body and time and entices the viewer into exploring new spaces.
All those who bought a ticket to see the La Ribot dance company Saturday night for their performance of Llámame Mariachi as part of the Beirut International Platform of Dance (BIPOD) witnessed a trio of women who not only had the majority of the audience in stitches, but also enacted a piece of cutting-edge contemporary dance theater… The Daily Star, Lebanon
