SCRITS

SCRITS

A CRIT crossed with a SCRATCH, time to get to the heart of the art. Bite off a piece and then SCRIT it back out.
Looking for feedback on a recent piece of work? Have ideas that you need to share with a group of other artists? Need advice on where a new piece of work should be performed? Or simply want to show to a fresh and varied audience? Then you need to come to the Artsadmin SCRIT.
CALL FOR ARTISTS
The Artsadmin Youth board Scrit is based on the combination of a performance “scratch” with the constructive feedback of a visual arts “crit.” The Youth Board is inviting proposals for works in many different stages of completion to be presented to an invited audience. Emerging young artists are given the opportunity to show work in front of a small group from different disciplines and backgrounds in an environment ideal for work that might not sit easily within either a strictly visual or performing arts context.
Discussion led by the audiences’ response to the work will follow each showing allowing the work to grow and develop in the future.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Artists must be under 25 and be working across the spectrum of theatre, visual arts, dance, live art and performance.
You will show work and then let it speak for itself for the first 5 – 10 minutes
All work must be under 15 minutes if performed live. Please send a 150 word description of what you wish to show to youthboardscrits@gmail.com and include your contact details.
We will recruit 3 people to take part in the SCRIT and each artist will have between 30 – 40 minutes to show work and receive feedback.
Deadline for applications: Monday 22 November at 9am
If you have any questions or are interested in attending a SCRIT but don't have work to show, please email youthboardscrits@gmail.com
