Weekender: How to Scream Your Autobiography

Artsadmin’s Weekenders are led by international artists renowned for their approach to creating performance, collaboration and participation. More of a lab than a masterclass, they are run in a spirit of play and collaborative experimentation – reflecting the lead artist’s own practice whilst responding to the interests of all the people in the room.

Our next Weekender will be with Franko B. How To Scream Your Autobiography will use voice and personal responses as a starting point for creativity. The Weekender will experiment in playing with sound / music, singing and building confidence on how to use your voice and start work from a personal place.

Weekenders are open to artists from all backgrounds and levels of experience. Just come with an open mind and something to say!

Franko B is an artist who has been making work for over 20 years. He originally trained as a visual artist but has continually adapted his way of working to encompass live art, painting, sculpture, photography, video and sound. Notable works include I miss you, Oh lover boy and Still life and his most recent piece Because of Love is currently on tour.

Following Franko B there will be further Weekenders in Spring 2014 led by Lois Weaver and Marcus Coates. Full details to be announced in September.
