The Working Mons Club

For four days, the Maison Folie will transport you directly into the atmosphere of a London working men’s club, with it’s quiet atmosphere, eccentric staff and scotch eggs on the munu. The curtains and chairs are velvet, the walls are covered in teak panelling and gold lame curtain and it’s all under the glow of a lit-up red heart. These typically British clubs are social spaces, where people get together to chat, drink, play, invent… but these spaces are also dissapearing.

In partnership with The Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, this transformation of La Maison Folie is a celebration of English popular culture, the values of sharing and community and the importance of being together, we will dive into a constantly changing London culture and provide a space to reinvent the times we live in and imagine what future could hold.
