Rosalind Uncut
7.30pm. £5.
Claire Blundell-Jones’ new film explores how a husband, a son and a daughter have coped with a violent death.
The video meanders between two audio accounts Claire conducted with her brother and father whilst the visuals portray their recent home lives. One house in Sheffield and the other in Grindleford provide the gentle domestic backdrop for the story of Claire’s mother, Rosalind, and her death over 25 years ago.
“Rosalind Uncut is an intensely personal and powerful exploration of grief. Both contemplative and inventive, the film is moving without resorting to sentimentality – a rarity for the important subject matter it addresses.”
– Richard Warden – Film Curator / Producer
Jeremy Gavron, author of 'A Woman on the Edge of Time' will lead a discussion with the artist, Claire Blundell-Jones on the night.
