Hopscotch to Victory: The Film

401 people joined Live Art Collective East in Colchester Castle Park on 30 June 2012 in an attempt to break the world record for the most people playing hopscotch in the same place at the same time. Egged on by TV Presenter Gareth “Gaz Top” Jones, the people of Colchester hopped, stepped and jumped their way to victory in a mass celebration of momentarily leaving the ground beneath their feet. Did we break the record? We’ll have to wait and see!

Hopscotch To Victory has been granted the Inspire mark by the London 2012 Inspire programme. The London 2012 Inspire programme recognises innovative and exceptional projects that are directly inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games said:

“Hopscotch To Victory is encouraging the people of Colchester to fulfil their potential. I am proud that with the help of partners such as Live Art Collective East, we are delivering our vision to use the power of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games to boost participation in the live arts.”
